Ìbùkúnolúwa is a Christian mental health professional and the Director of Sustainability and Growth at the STEAMWorks Academic and Life Skills Program, established by the Black Physicians of Tomorrow. Her role involves establishing a 5-year strategic plan for the growth and continuity of STEAMWorks. She has a Bachelors in Psychology (UWindsor, ’16), a Masters in Counselling Psychology (McGill, ’18), and is completing a PhD program in Counselling Psychology (McGill). As such, she brings 12 years and 8 months of health and social science research experience to her role. Ìbùkúnolúwa is the proponent of the Brighter Black Futures Theory of Change (Adékọ̀yà, 2025) which posits that, through the needed academic and psychosocial mentorship in the STEAMWorks program, 5000 Black African and Caribbean youth will have entered the medical and allied health careers in Canada by 2040. Her ultimate goal is to see Black African and Caribbean individuals in Canada receive culturally sensitive health services to enhance their all-round wellness and longevity.
